Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Western Regional Director Ed Chow addressed credit union professionals during a breakout session at the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues' 2013 Annual Meeting and Convention (AMC), acknowledging that credit unions did not cause the financial crisis, do not pose much risk, and that federal and state regulators do a good job overseeing the industry.

PAC GOLF TOURNAMENT RAISES 40K

Nearly 100 credit union executives and industry vendors played in the 2013 PAC Golf Tournament on Monday morning at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco, raising $40,000 for the PAC.

Credit union chapter members from across California and Nevada gathered Oct. 27 at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco to attend the 2013 Chapter Forum, which offered a full day of valuable networking and educational sessions for attendees who were eager to share individual stories about the work their chapters are accomplishing.

International CU Day Initiative
Several California and Nevada credit unions celebrated this year’s International Credit Union Day on Oct. 17 by helping CU4Kids create miracles and donated nearly $175,000 to Credit Unions for Kids, it was announced during Monday's opening general session at the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues' Annual Meeting and Convention by Leagues President and CEO Diana Dykstra.

A group of 78 San Francisco teens got a "bite of reality" Monday when they attended an interactive financial education simulation at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco designed to teach them how to manage money.
